Handel’s Messiah – Favorite Excerpts

The Nativity Choir and outstanding Arizona-based soloists will present a selection of favorite arias, recitatives, and choruses from the famous oratorio by Georg Friedrich Handel, Messiah. In 1741, inspired by the text prepared by Charles Jennens, Handel produced this large-scale work in a creative fervor, completing it in just three to four weeks. It was originally performed in Dublin around Easter time, but by the early 19th century it became a strong Yuletide tradition in the United States and Great Britain. Please join us in continuing this fine tradition!
